i only provided the vocals. i did not arrange the instrumentation. i was reminiscing about how good the musical was and how badly i want to see it again. as a product of those thoughts came this. i got lazy and only wanted to do one take. i could have done a better job. *shrug*

i love this song and i don’t think i did it justice. but i had fun doing it. i added full reverb in the vocals and it sounded kinda cool. i don’t know how i managed to mess up the channels though but that’s for another experiment another time.

revised repost: streetlights by kanye

this is a repost, but the mixing was re-edited for slight improvements. you might find the lagging isn’t so obvious and the volume of the vocals don’t just disappear near the end of the song as much anymore. don’t know if those things are obvious, but i figured since i can’t record anything new for a month due to blisters on my fingertips (from guitar-playing) i should at least try to improve on my editing skills.

the first BETTER QUALITY clip i’ve made. bought a new mic and downloaded a trial version of Adobe Audition. i have no clue how to use that program. i’ve been experimenting with it and this is the first completed project. it’s not great cuz i can’t explain the lagging between voice and piano at a few points (it’s two separate clips that i joined together) and there’s about a million other things that i need to improve on. but i think it’s good to document the progress. maybe the next few will be better. this project took the span of about a week to accomplish cuz i just have no idea what i’m doing. figuring out how to get the best sound from the mic took about three days on its own and mucking around on Audition took up even more time. it’s all for fun. but man, every project henceforth will be more time-consuming than it used to be! hope you enjoy.

the other voice is singindork888 (a youtube user - and a great musician. seriously). i basically sang to his youtube video. i’m lame. but again, it was kind of fun learning a new song. i didn’t know this song until just before recording it.

you will likely have to turn up your volume for this. i don’t have the luxury of having a superior microphone or equipment. i used my built-in laptop mic. woo hoo.
